I've gotten them as drops from mobs or you can buy them from other players. check the trading realm. you might get lucky and find some great deals I'm still kinda new at the game so idk if there is a merchant you can buy them from -.-

it is possible to craft potions for healing or mana?

Crafting recipies 4+ are ONLY via mob drops there are no venders that sell them. (which sucks). SO that means either you go out and get them yourself or get lucky in TR. Good luck is about all I can say or just simply wait till you ascend to work on crafting if you are above the level of getting the appropriate recipies. Of course you can level an alt or more to farm the recipies for you. Timeconsuming but cheaper then TR at times. The other perk to this would be you will also get the mats you need which again are only via mob drops or getting them in TR.
