#1   Guide: Bloodsmelting [In-Depth] - 08-17-2009, 12:56 AM

Table Of Content
  1. Introduction to Bloodsmelting
  2. Enhancing Esper
  3. Transferring Main Stats to Lean
  4. Bloodsmelting with Mediums

1) Introduction to Bloodsmelting

Whenever we talked about bloodsmelting, we have to lookout for the esper stats growth (Attack, Health, Spirit, Resist).
Stats growth means how much the stats will increase every level.
For example, we'll take use the attack stats, golden wand (Skysong L75 Esper) and orb of luck (Skysong L15 Esper) in this whole guide.

Let's say at level 1, golden wand attack is "3-9" and at level 6 it's attack is "20-52".
There's a difference and we call this the growth rate.

Therefore, we can conclude that the growth rate is:
((Current Highest Attack value) - (Highest Attack Value at Level 1)) / (Esper Current Level - 1)
E.g. (52-9)/5 = 8.6 (Growth Rate)

In short, the higher the value, the better is your esper.

2) Enhancing Esper

In most cases, esper that you bloodsmelt will not have any visual effect at low level (1-6).
However after bloodsmelting, you will see the changes at higher levels.

Therefore, if you want to determine if the esper is good in growth rate, you have to level it to higher levels (6-10).
Make a few esper to such high levels and determine which one is the best for you.

If you want to strengthen your esper, there are 2 ways to do it.
First way is to level your esper continuously to high level.
The other way is to bloodsmelt and in the process you can choose which stats you want to enhance.

One very good benefit for bloodsmelting is that, you will be able to see the changes in you stats right after you bloodsmelt and this improvement affect EVERY level of your esper.
E.g. Golden Wand Level 6 (Attack; 20-52) with a successful smelt of "1-1" attack.
Final result: Golden Wand Level 6 (Attack; 25-57)

In any case the above example is not really possible, you have to get esper higher to see results.
Bear in mind, there are limit to your esper at its level and quality can hold.

2.1 Bloodsmelting with no medium

Main: Golden Wand; Level 10+; No lean stats (Orange colored)
Source: Orb of Luck
Medium: None

Bloodsmelt Result:
Result 1: Golden Wand; Level 10+; One of the stats growth might increase.
Result 2: Orb of Luck; One of the stats growth might increase.
Result 3: Other espers.

3) Transferring Main Stats to Lean

As you can see that if we bloodsmelt normally like the above method, we can see that the stat growth is randomly assigned to one of the stats.

As many or most people like the stat "Attack", randomly assigning to one of the stats growth is a no-go.
How can we solve this problem?

This is a very simple solution..
Buy Trigrams from the esper merchant till you get one with an orange attack stat.

3.1 Transferring

Main: Golden Wand; Level 10+; No lean stats (Orange colored)
Source: Trigram (Orange Attack Stat)
Medium: Best Dragon Skin

Bloodsmelt Result:
Golden Wand; Level 10+; With attack stat lean (Orange colored)

Choose the medium for your esper level.
Level 1: Not sure. Please fill me in.
Level 15: Yin-Yang Flag.
Level 45: Best Spirit Light
Level 75: Best Dragon Skin

4) Bloodsmelting with Mediums

Many will ask, why do we even need medium for bloodsmelting after reading section 2 of this guide.
Well, this is because bloodsmelting with no medium will cause you 3 results; being getting an Orb of Luck in return.

How would you like that?
Therefore, we'll do this..

4.1 Bloodsmelting with Mediums

Main: Golden Wand; Level 10+; Attack Lean (Orange colored)
Source: Orb of Luck
Medium: Sacred Charm

Bloodsmelt Result:
Golden Wand; Level 10+; Attack Lean (Orange colored); Attack might increase; No changes to other stats.

Also, please choose the correct medium for your esper.
Get them from trading in treasure bowl with Tonni in Sun Stream.

Esper accessories can be gotten from Tonni, except you trade in treasure urn.
Killing boss and some quests can give you the accessories too.

This concludes the guide, hope that you will find it useful.
If you like, please sticky this guide. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply.

4.1

Sorry I forgot to mention that for esper attack growth rate, you can use Trigram till its attack is 61 max or lower, after that you must use L15 esper to increase to proceed.

Maybe because the information you posted until now was already known?

If you post something new to them, they'll most surely act more interested in what you have to say here.

Very nice guide.
In your guide you were bloodsmelting a level 10 esper,
does that mean it is okay to bloodsmelt an esper
even if it is high level? This contradicts what I
have been reading from another guide.

And please continue on with the guide.
I still don't know when to stop bloodsmelting my esper.
Do you just want a divined status?
Isn't there a way to tell if your esper
already has its maxed growth?

Also, what is the difference between bloodsmelting
with a trigram than bloodsmelting with higher lvl espers
like let us say lvl 15 espers.

What does orange stat actually mean? Does that mean
that that stat has the highest growth?

Thank you in advance. I do have alot of questions .
I will be bloodsmelting a new esper soon.

Yes, you can bloodsmelt esper at high level. After level 6 and onwards, your smelt will have a chance to up random stats if there are no orange name stat. If there is orange name stat, it might up that stats only, other stats will not have any changes.

First, you have to know a divined esper might not be as good as a precious one. Depends on the initial growth of the esper when u acquire it.
There is a way to tell if your esper have a max growth rate at its level through bloodsmelting. If after 5 smelt or so, your esper stats does not move, you can assume that its stat on its current level is max or almost.

Do the basic, before your esper attack reach 61, you can use trigram to push it's stat up. Once its above 61 till 600 attack range u need to use lv2 - 10 L15 esper to push it. Any amount above you have to use lv 10 - 15 L75 esper to keep pushing.

Do some experiment and you will know.

As I've said above, after 61 attack point in your esper, trigram cannot push its stats anymore.

Yes and no. Orange stat means 2 things.
One, orange stat will receive higher boost when you level up your esper.
Two, during bloodsmelting, only orange stat will gain any boost. The rest of the stats will not be affected.

Hope I answered your qn.

Sorry for double post

Just a quick tip:

And please take note that esper at level 10 / 15 are the most expensive things in the future.
Try not to sell them cheaply now.
